Wesley Wyndam-Pryce was born to be a Watcher. His father, Roger, was a highly-placed and well-respected member of that group, and there was never any doubt that his children would follow in his footsteps and do him proud. Roger, for one, was determined to see that come to pass, and so became the relentless, belitlling taskmaster rather than father to his eldest, Wesley.

Afraid of his father and at the same time desperately needing his approval, Wesley excelled at the Watchers' Academy, and was one of its brightest and most promising young members when he was assigned to replace Rupert Giles as the Watcher of the then-current Slayer, Buffy Summers. Wesley's rigid, by-the-book interpretations clashed with the more unorthodox Slayer, and he was regularly marginalized in the group and dismissed (validly, truth be told) for his inexperience in the field.

Following the Ascenscion and given Buffy's unwillingness to function under the aegis of the Watchers' Council, Wesley and the Council parted ways. (Whether Wesley quit or was sacked depends on whose account one believes.) Without a purpose, Wesley remained in the U.S. rather than return to England, a decision that infuriated his father. For a short period, Wesley was engaged as a rogue demon hunter, traveling on a motorcycle, seeking evil to thwart. He was not terribly successful.

He soon joined Angel Investigations, finding a new home and real friends. Among his accomplishments were the translation of the Shanshu Prophecy and the rescue of Lorne and Winifred Burkle from the demon dimension of Pylea. Wesley, immediately enamored of Fred but too unsure to express it, watched as she and his good friend Charles Gunn begin a relationship.

After the birth of Angel's son Connor, Wesley was able to translate the Nyazian Scrolls, which contained a prophecy that led him to believe that Angel would kill Connor. Choosing to save both of them from their fates, Wesley kidnapped Connor, intending to spirit the child to safety. He was betrayed and had his throat slit by an associate of Holtz, who took the infant into the hell dimension, Quor'toth, a loss which he has never forgiven himself for.

His associates were not more forgiving, and Wesley was alienated from his friends for most of a year, during which he operated his own group of hunters, working independently. Between his status as pariah and his destructive affair with Lilah Morgan, Wesley's personality hardened and darkened. Wesley returned to the Angel Investigations fold when The Beast proved unbeatable. After the defeat of Jasmine and the team's takeover of the Los Angeles office of Wolfram & Hart, Wesley took the position of Head of Magical Research.

Well after splitting with Gunn, Fred eventually realized her feelings for Wesley. Their relationship was short-lived, though, as Fred was killed by the demon entity Illyria, who Wesley eventually took a measure of responsibility for. During their final campaign against the Senior Partners, Wesley did battle with the sorcerer Cyvus Vail, who delivered a fatal wound. Illyria, taking on the form of Fred, allowed Wesley to die in the arms of his love.

For prompt responses, Wesley will be written strictly to canon as much as possible. For the purposes of RP and interactions, he will, obviously, have survived "Not Fade Away", but will not be happy about it.
