OOC: Follows immediately after Part 1, occurring at the same time as Part 2.

Cordelia sat back in her chair once Lindsey had stormed out, glaring after him. If he thought she was going to chase after him, he'd be waiting out there a long time. Call her stubborn, but after the way he'd been acting, she didn't see why she should follow him. Let him steam over it for a while on his own, then maybe they'd talk when he was more rational.

Once Logan followed, she sighed and turned her attention back to Wesley and Gwen.

"I'm sorry, Wes. I didn't think he'd flip out like that. I thought once we were all here, he'd be more open to the idea."

She looked back at the door, a little surprised that Logan had been the one to go after him. But at least someone had, which she could admit to herself was good, even if she was still angry at him.

"Maybe your friend can talk some sense into him, cause I know right now I wouldn't be able to. He always does this when he gets pissed off. Runs off. But he comes back." She'd learned that much over the last 8 months, at least. "Well, usually."

Wesley shook his head. "No, no, Cordelia. No need to apologize. I remember how poorly Lindsey McDonald reacts to being cornered, and though I was hoping for somewhat different, I'm not surprised." He sat back and took a sip of his drink. "Yes, perhaps Logan will get through to him. I just hope this incident hasn't cost the agency two members before we've even opened the doors."

He smiled ruefully. "Perhaps I should have started out discussing salaries and benefits..."

Gwen watched as Logan followed Lindsey out of the restaurant. It seemed the entertainment portion of the evening was at an end. She'd been tempted to follow her friend, but figured he'd have to come around on his own. The choice had to be his. She had been surprised at the boxers in a bunch attitude though. Gwen had always assumed it was only Angel that did that to Lindsey and Wesley would make him cranky.

"Offer him some midol when you get home." Her lips twitched when she turned back around to face Cordelia and Wesley. "I hadn't realized there was that much drama or history with you guys. His pride's probably pricked that he wasn't invited to the party even if his answer would have been no." She shrugged her shoulders.

"I do understand his not wanting to have people watch his back, that's a part of this that I'm dealing with." Gwen glanced back to the entrance for a moment, then returned her attention to the table. "So what are we talking about for salary and benefits?" Her eyes danced with impish fun.

"Salaries and benefits are always a favorite discussion of mine, too," Cordelia agreed, smiling a little at them. She was curious what the guys were talking about out there, but stubbornness and annoyance kept her firmly planted in her seat. "Though I don't really need an actual salary this time around. I'd be open to some sort of profit-sharing though, once things get off the ground and, you know, make a profit."

Yes, that's right, Cordelia Chase just turned down money. But really, after her surprise inheritance of half the Osborn fortune, even she wasn't greedy enough to insist on being paid here. She knew from experience that agencies like that didn't bring in a lot of cash right away, and figured the others might need it more than her. So for now, she was offering to pass on the salary.

Of course, that meant no one could argue with her if she wanted to take any extended vacations. As far as she could see, everyone was a winner this way.

Wesley nodded to Gwen. "Lindsey and I don't have much history specifically, but we were always on opposing sides, until the end. I confess I didn't even consider him playing a role in the agency until Cordelia brought the idea to the table. It makes perfect sense to me now," he assured Cordy. "I can only hope he'll see this as an opportunity to continue doing the right thing." He laughed to himself. "I suppose it could have gone worse-- Angel could have been the one asking him."

He raised an eyebrow as Cordelia refused the idea of being paid for her position in the agency. "That's quite magnanimous of you, Cordy. We'll make sure every penny is invested in the agency properly." Wesley scratched at his chin a moment. "Speaking of which, I believe we need a name."

"The Chase Agency works for me," Cordelia offered, shooting him a playful grin. She felt a little bit nostalgic, remembering the last time they'd had this argument.

Now Gwen would have paid good money and sold tickets to the entertainment of Angel being the one asking Lindsey to join the agency. She didn't know the history of Lindsey and Angel only that the hatred ran deep and there was a knee jerk reaction of dislike whenever Angel's name was mentioned. She'd learned not to bring up his name unless she wanted to push that particular button.

"The Quixotic Agency is a pretty descriptive name." Gwen's lips twitched. "What did you call the agency that you had before? The one without Angel." It was on the tip of her tongue to ask if they'd called it Angel's Flunkies but bit it back.

Wesley considered the two suggestions and took a moment for the bittersweet memory to settle in at Gwen's question. He smiled, a little ruefully. "Actually, we still called it 'Angel Investigations'. We told people that the angel was just a symbol." Drumming his finger on the table, he thought. "I'm not sure that would be entirely appropriate under the circumstances."

Before he could continue the thought, he glanced up to see Logan and Lindsey heading toward the table. "Of course," he said loud enough for the returning men to hear, "every one at this table has had a turn as rogue. I'm sure there's something sufficiently descriptive to be found."
