Following the lead ((RP for [livejournal.com profile] evilhandissue))

It was something he hadn't done in a long time, so Wesley took the pursuit of the lead very seriously and with great enthusiasm. With the date for officially opening the doors of the as-yet-unnamed detective agency so close, he would have normally waited until he had the support of the entire team, but an inescapable time factor had entered the equation, and the investigation couldn't wait.

He'd heard the name "Bri'ahn" more than once since coming out of his coma and getting back into the game, but until a few days after returning from New York, Wesley had never had a single tangible lead on how to go after the demon clan. The feelers Wesley had stretched out to his old informants paid off, and he'd gone to meet with the Karathmama'anyugh demon behind one of the less reputable 'gentlemen's clubs' in the City of Industry.

The Bri'ahn, it seemed, had created a chink in their own armour. Bereft of a house mage after a particularly disastrous legal battle, the Bri'ahn took on a human for the position, rather than a demon. It was possible, even likely, the Karathmama'anyugh suggested, that said mage would not be able to physically handle the stress of performing the rites and spells required and could be exploited as a weak link.

Wesley had been pointed in the direction, and after several evenings following lines of command in the lower tiers of the Bri'ahn's criminal apparatus, he began getting answers to fill in the blanks.

Those answers did not please him at all.

Cordelia was in New York, and in deference to her, Wesley had waited until that trip to contact Lindsey. He knocked on the condominium door and waited for the man to answer.
