There are many adversaries one comes across in this peculiar line of work: vampires, of course, and demons. Less common are wizards and other users of dark magic, beings from other dimensions, trolls, goblins, and other various assorted nasties.
With few exceptions, the course of action to take with such enemies is clear. Demons and vampires can be destroyed with near impunity (past and present associates of mine excluded, of course). The same can be said for any other mystical or mythical creatures involved in the harm of humans or other innocents. Human evildoers, on the other hand, are a stickier subject, and dealing with them is a matter of taking each case as it comes.
The most troubling and troublesome danger, though, is posed by the cult.
