I can't continue to walk from Cordelia's condominium to the local book store to use their internet connection. I ask my friends list to help me with choosing a suitable computer for my use-- all I know to ask for is a laptop, capable of using the internet in any location, and of whatever other capabilities sufficient to keep it usable for at least two years.

In return, I'll share some information.

Ask me five questions. Anything you want to know, and I'll do my best to answer. Then (if you want) repost this meme in your journal so I can ask you five questions.

Toshiba laptop Here. (http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9725538-1.html) Don't worry about the price of it, I can find it for less than that. *grins*

1. If you could have chosen a different path instead of being a Watcher what would you have done?

2. How did you spend your misspent youth?

3. How do you spend your down time when you're not fighting the good fight?

4. When did you get interested in motorcycles?

5. Come on, you can confess... what's your guilty pleasure? It can be anything. Doesn't even have to be sexual though I'm sure my mind will go there anyway. It can be from watching the Three Stooges to being a musicals fan to never missing a game of soccer (or football in the rest of the world).

Price is not that great a concern.

As for your questions...

1. I have absolutely no idea. Never once until I actually lost my place with the Watchers did I ever consider a life without that title and that structure. Even after that, I continued to work in the same capacity for Angel Investigations, once the "rogue demon hunter" days ended.

2. Worrying far to greatly about my father's opinion and approval.

3. Typically, recovering from injuries sustained in the "good fight". I must confess to a fairly boring personal life.

4. When I realised the idea of them would meet stern disapproval from my father and the Watchers' Council. It was after I left their employ.

5. Formerly, Lilah Morgan. I don't feel guilty over things that I find pleasurable. That said, it's not as though I have any pastimes. As I said, my private life is uneventful.

3 & 5 - We're going to have to do something about that. You can't beat the ridiculous fun of watching Moe smack Curly around or a good game of pool.

4. Hey, that was the same reason I started riding a bike. Well not the Watchers Council, but ticking off my parents.

3. & 5. Billiards sounds lovely. The Three Stooges, on the other hand, fills me with a dread reminiscent of facing a pack of hungry vampires.

4. Ahh, parents.

3. & 5. You don't know what you're missing, but okay. What about MST3K? You have to like those.

4. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

3. & 5. What is that, some sort of code?

4. Try as we might.

3. & 5. Okay, your pop culture knowledge is sadly lacking and I seriously need to help you with that. Mystery Science Theater 3000. It's where these characters sit in a theater and make smart ass comments about cheesy horror or science fiction movies that they're watching. As you can tell the appeal it would have for me. *smirks*

Well, I do occasionally get out to the theatre or to a film or two. Although I confess to be intrigued by the program you describe.

How can I resist that? *grins*

Expect a few of these (http://www.amazon.com/Mystery-Science-Theater-3000-Collection/sim/B00006RJCL/2/ref=pd_cp_d_sexpl/104-3810731-0324720) in the mail soon. Still at Cordelia's or do you have a PO Box?

*smiles* Very well. I'll save them, though, for a proper viewing. You may send them to Cordelia's address. If I've already moved out, she'll know the forwarding address.

You might like something like this (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/latit_atg_d620?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04). Looks like it's designed to stand up to a lot of abuse. Personally, I like a heavier notebook. I mean, not a twelve-pound monster, or anything, just something I don't feel like I'm going to break if I breathe on it wrong, you know?

Plus, the fingerprint reader is just plain cool. *grins*

Hmm. Considering some of the situations into which I might take the machine, that seems a good direction.

Thought that might be the case.

I realized after posting that I forgot to do the meme part. So.

1. What is a Watcher?

2. If you had unlimited funds and instructions to go buy the vehicle of your dreams, what would it be?

3. Which do you prefer: written communication, or talking with someone in person?

4. Who was (or is) the best Bond?

5. This may or may not be an appropriate meme question, but, whatever. You doing all right with those post-car-accident, post-coma injuries? I know from experience that recuperating from serious stuff is a pain in the ass, especially if it takes longer than you'd like. (And when doesn't it?) So. Just thought I'd ask.

1. The Watchers are a (somewhat) secret group dedicated to the defense of humankind against the darker supernatural threats in the world. The highest duty of the Watchers has always been to train, guide and counsel the Slayer. And now, the Slayers.

2. Hmmm. Either the Triumph Rocket III Classic (http://www.triumph.co.uk/uk/Motorcycle_Rocket_III_Classic.aspx) or a Range Rover (http://www.landrover.co.uk/gb/en/Vehicles/New_Range_Rover/Range_Rover_overview.htm?route=_gb_en_Vehicles_overview@__link__Thumbnail_1), with all the extras.

3. If I were making formal communication, then written. Anything else, face-to-face. This casual online conversing is very strange.

4. An excellent question to ask a Brit. Sentimentally, of course, I can't not prefer Sean Connery. However, in my adult years, and after reading the novels, I find myself being drawn to the more realistic, darker and serious Bonds.

5. Recovery is progressing. I did recently check myself out of hospital, and am convalescing at a friend's home. Thank you for the concern.

1. My guess was way off. I thought it might be some kind of counter-terrorist organization. Supernatural threats. Huh. That's...wow. Wouldn't have believed it, had I not recently seen some supernatural stuff in action. Had a run in with a cult, and now...guess you could say my eyes have been opened to the weirdness in the world.

Still, though. Wow. If I may ask, what kinds of dark supernatural threats are you talking about?

2. Nice. I've heard nothing but good things about the Range Rover.

3. *grins* I think many people would say that having casual conversations with strangers is the point of the internet. I wouldn't go that far, but I'll admit, I think it's pretty cool. If 'very strange' is a polite British way of saying, 'get lost,' however...by all means, let me know.

4. Thought it might be. Connery is my favorite, too, for the same reason. I remember being very young and practicing, "Cale. Logan Cale." Trying to make it sound right. And I agree, the darker Bonds are good, particularly when viewed (or read) as an adult.

5. 'Checked yourself out?' That sounds...euphemistic. Glad you're doing better, though.

1. The Watchers have occasionally been known to deal with purely human adversaries, but only ones using some sort of supernatural advantage or occasion to accomplish their goals. And yes, there is a great deal in the world to which the great majority are blissfully (and thankfully) ignorant. Were some of the things I've seen to be made public, the panic would be terrible.

Vampires. Demons. Ancient, extremely powerful beings. The darkest sorcery. And a great deal of the entertainment industry, I recently learned.

2. Despite calling the States home, I am still something of an Anglophile in my choice of vehicle.

3. I can very much see the advantages, yes, though it seems I have a steep learning vurve. Oh, and it does not mean that.

5. Extenuating circumstances prompted me to weigh other things more heavily than doctor's orders. Thank you.
